The main function of this column base is to link the column to the concrete footing surface and thereby transmit the structure's stresses to the foundation. The CBSQ uses Strong Drive SDS Heavy Duty Connector screws (included), which allow for fast installation and reduced reveal, and provide a greater net section area of the column than bolts. Nice coat but packaging needs to be improved. It arrived not properly folded and as a result it was completely wrinkled. Took some work to iron so it looked as advertised. Packaging for such things has to be reviewed.
